About Us
The Brain & Spine Institute has at
its core the gifted neurosurgical team of Michael Stechison, MD and
Michael Amaral, MD. Both doctors are certified by the American Board
of Neurological Surgery. Our doctors believe strongly in utilization
of conservative non-surgical measures when appropriate so
consultation does not necessarily mean that surgery is going to
be recommended.
Through a partnership with Gwinnett Medical Center – a multidisciplinary approach to our patients’ recovery is readily available. Hospital programs like the Surgical Evaluation Center address, in advance, any special medical conditions such as diabetes or hypertension that our patients may have prior to surgery so that their medical condition can be optimized and complications minimized. Comprehensive care for all neurological patients is provided in one place, the Center for Neuroscience at GMC, meeting all levels of care from Neurosurgical Intensive Care to overnight observation.
